ABOUT

A4 Studios is a not-for-profit organisation that has been founded by a group of disabled and able-bodied artists and entrepreneurs who recognised a need for good quality affordable studio spaces within the locality of Trafford.

Our aim is to provide affordable spaces for creative’s of all abilities, whilst improving accessibility to the arts for the wider community. The gallery and the majority of the studios have full disabled access, providing facilities otherwise unavailable to this demographic.

Our aims are to:

  • Provide affordable studio spaces for artists in the North West.

  • Raise the awareness of disabilities and equality in the arts.

  • To create a community of artists for collaboration.

  • To provide opportunities for artists to showcase their work.

  • To become a central part of the local community with workshops, events, exhibitions and activities.

  • Educate and raise awareness of the various arts to the public including film, visual arts, performance, music and theatre.

  • Increase confidence of artists in their abilities through experience and exposure of having their work on display.

  • Boost the regeneration of the area through increased footfall and dwell time.

  • Develop and enhance our outreach activities across Trafford.

We will do this through:

  • Providing studios and resources for artists of all abilities.

  • Collaborate with existing businesses and art groups in the area to build a stronger network and community of artists.

  • Provide mentoring, support and tutorials for all residents to enhance their personal development.

  • The creation of a new contemporary gallery in which to Educate and raise the awareness of the arts in the local area.

  • Our workshop and exhibition programme will Promote community Cohesion, reduced social isolation and social exclusion through the delivery of Arts Exhibitions, Events and Activities.

  • Encourage and inspire the community to engage in the arts through the workshops and participating in the cultural events.

  • Hosting regular Open Studio events, encouraging the public to engage with the arts and to provide exposure for the residents involved.

  • Host two annual Open exhibition events, to provide national and international artists opportunities to exhibit in Altrincham

  • Collaborate with existing events in the area to support and engage with the local community.
